Tomahawks vs. Jamestown Rebels Series Preview (11/24 | 11/26-11/27)

After splitting a series against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, the Johnstown Tomahawks will kick off the week Wednesday night before coming back home this Friday and Saturday for a two gamer. Their opponents, none other than the Jamestown Rebels, facing off against each other for the first time since the 2019-20 season.


Wednesday Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m. | Friday Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m. | Saturday Puck Drop: 7 p.m.


Jamestown comes into this after taking a sweep against the Northeast Generals last Friday and Saturday night. As the shots on goal were very close at 35-33 (NTE), Jamestown lost game one at a final score of 5-2. The following night, as shots on goal were close once again 37-34 (NTE), the game ended up in overtime. From there, Northeast took it, sweeping Jamestown at a 3-2 final score. Rebels defenseman Noah Szretter tallied two assists.

Johnstown comes in after taking one game out of a two game series against Danbury. Game one was a very close game all around, but the Jr. Tricks took it to a 5-4 final. Forward Jacob Badal and defenseman Billy Simms each tallied two assists.

Game two saw a much better result for Johnstown, as they forced the split in the series after winning the game 6-3. Forwards Ryan Vellucci (three assists), and Egan Schmitt (two goals, one assist) both put up a three point game. Sam Evola recorded the win, stopping 28/31.

Forwards Braedon Ford, Noah Wagner, and Egan Schmitt all recorded their first goal as a Tomahawks this past weekend. With Ford’s coming on Saturday night, and both Wagner’s and Schmitt’s coming Sunday afternoon.
