Thursday afternoon the Johnstown Generals got the opportunity to head down to PPG Paints Arena in Downtown Pittsburgh to play a 2 p.m. contest against the Pittsburgh Warthogs. Super fan Joey Snyder and the rest of Gens nation made sure to come down to support this team during their match-up on NHL ice.
Pittsburgh got up on the board early to kick off the contest, adding one from #43 to make it an early 1-0 game. The Warthogs then added one late into the period to make it 2-0 after one.
Going into the second and Ben Urban scored for the Generals to make it the only action seen in the second frame. We headed into the third period with the Warthogs up 2-1.
The third period arrived and Pittsburgh took full control. Scoring two unanswered goals to make it a 4-1 game. The Generals scored one late but it wouldn’t be enough as Pittsburgh would take it over Johnstown at a final score of 4-2.
