Tomahawks Withstand Late Period Surge To Force Game Five Saturday Night

With the Black Bears up 2-1 in the series, game four Thursday night at Piney Orchard Ice Arena in Odenton, Maryland would be a do-or-die game for the Tomahawks if they would want to stay alive and fight for another day.
After a scoreless first period, Jay Ahearn would get the party started 1:25 into the second to make it a 1-0 Tomahawks game. Brendan Clark and Ethan Webb would get the assists off the goal.
The Tomahawks would then add another one near the midway mark of the game after killing off the Geregach slashing penalty, making it 2-0 Johnstown heading into the final frame. Max Neill would score the insurance goal with the lone assist going to Anthony Mastromonica.
Maryland would then get their first goal of the game on the power-play to cut the Tomahawks lead in half with 8:28 left to go in the third. Josh Nixon would get his third of the series with Cam Gaudette and Garrett Szydlowski tallying the assists.
But the Tomahawks would stick with it as Jay Ahearn would capitalize once again to make it a 3-1 game. Brendan Clark would get the lone assist.
Maryland would then score with the extra attacker to make it 3-2, but Johnstown would score in the final second to take game four at a final score of 4-2, tying the series up at 2-2 and forcing a game five this Saturday night at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA.
