Tomahawks vs. Jamestown Rebels Series Preview (1/14-1/15)

After taking the week off to recharge, the Tomahawks are back on the ice for this fun filled weekend. This Friday and Saturday, the Tomahawks will welcome back the Jamestown Rebels to 1ST SUMMIT ARENA for a two-game series.

Game One Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m. | Game Two Puck Drop: 7 p.m.

Jamestown comes into Johnstown after sweeping the Maine Nordiques last weekend in a two gamer. Game one saw the Rebels take home a 3-1 win over the Nords, Lucas (Peter) Klemm took home two assists.


The following night then saw Jamestown take the game over Maine in a close one. Sending the Nordiques home swept with a final score of 4-3. James Miller took home two assists. Goaltender Jon Howe collected both wins in net, earning a weekend total of 79/83, a 2.00 GAA, and a 0.952 SV%.


Johnstown’s last game took place back on January 2nd, where they played the Rebels on the road. After a scoreless first, Johnstown went into the third period with a 2-1 lead over Jamestown, thanks to goals from Jake Black and Jacob Badal. But the momentum would soon ride with the Rebels, as they scored two goals in the final 20 minutes to send Johnstown home with a 3-2 loss.

Tomahawks Make Several Roster Moves

Yesterday, the Johnstown Tomahawks announced five player transactions, three of which are additions to the team's roster.

Looking at those additions, two of the players are defensemen the other is a goaltender.

Drew Jeffers was acquired from the Kenai River Brown Bears of the NAHL.

Chris Blango is the other defenseman and was acquired from the Philadelphia Little Flyers of the EHL.

The team’s new goalie comes from the Wichita Falls Warriors of the NAHL, Matt O’Donnell.

The two players that have departed Johnstown is goalie, Tommy Heaney, and defenseman, Billy Simms.

Simms was traded to the Wilmar Warhawks of the NA3HL.

Heaney was recalled to the Omaha Lancers of the USHL, which is the tier above the NAHL.
