Tomahawks vs. Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks Series Preview (12/2-12/3)

The Tomahawks after facing off against the Jamestown Rebels for three games are heading back on the road for a set of weekday games. This Thursday and Friday, the Hawks will face off against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks at Danbury Ice Arena in Danbury, Connecticut for a two gamer.


Game One Puck Drop: 8 p.m. | Game Two Puck Drop: 3 p.m.


Danbury comes into this series after taking a two game split against the Maryland Black Bears last Friday and Saturday. A high scoring game Friday night led the Hat Tricks to take game one over Maryland 7-4. Forward Gabe Dombrowski recorded a hat trick, while forward Mike Salandra tallied three assists. Jazz Krivtsov (F) took home a goal and an assist, Josh Seeley (G) stopped 43/47 in the winning performance in net.

Maryland however responded the following night, as October Goaltender of the Month Luca Di Pasquo and the Black Bears defeated Danbury in game two at a 5-0 final score, forcing the split. Di Pasquo stopped 15/15.

Johnstown enters this series after facing Jamestown for three games last week. After taking a 2-0 lead early Wednesday night, Jamestown came back to defeat the Hawks at a final score of 4-2.

The series shifted to 1ST SUMMIT ARENA on Friday night. Jamestown forced OT after scoring a midway third period goal from John Lundy (his second of the game) to tie it 2-2. From there, Rebels forward Marcus Kivela Carlzon scored the game winner 0:23 seconds into OT to steal the win over Johnstown 3-2.

The series finale Saturday night saw the Hawks respond to the defeats. Taking the game at a final score of 6-2. Zachary Murray (F) and Sean Ramsay (F) scored two goals. Jacob Badal (F) took home two assists. Goaltender Sam Evola recorded the win in net, stopping 25/27.

The Arlington, Virginia native Murray put up a four point weekend in Johnstown’s two games at home versus Jamestown. Scoring one goal in game one, and two goals and one assist in game two.


For Ramsay, the Victoria, BC extended his points streak to five games after putting up four points in Johnstown’s three games last week against the Rebels. He’d score one goalWednesday night, tally one assistFriday night, and score two goalsSaturday night.
