Tomahawks Travel To Blaine For 2022 NAHL Showcase

The 19th annual NAHL Showcase is set to kick off Wednesday at the NSC Super Rink in Blaine, Minnesota. For the Tomahawks, they enter their teams' 10th showcase with three games on their plate. Their first game will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. CDT / 3 p.m. EST against the Chippewa Steel. Their second game on Friday will see the Hawks faceoff against the US National 17U Team at 7:45 p.m. CDT / 8:45 p.m. EST. Wrapping it all up the next day with a 12:15 p.m. CDT / 1:15 p.m. EST matchup against the Corpus Christi IceRays.

As mentioned, the Tomahawks come into Blaine entering their 10th Showcase in franchise history. While playing in these games, Johnstown holds an overall record of 17-19. This includes a 1-2 record against Corpus Christi when playing them in the Showcase.

The Chippewa Steel are entering their 4th Showcase in their 5th NAHL season of play. Out of the Midwest Division, the Steel hold an overall record of 5-7 during these Showcase games.

The USNTDP 17U are entering their 5th Showcase, while playing twice a year during these games, they hold an overall record of 6-2.

The Corpus Christi IceRays are entering their 12th Showcase in their 12th NAHL season of play. Out of the South Division, the IceRays hold an overall record of 17-20-0-7 during these Showcase games.

So far out of the Tomahawks three Showcase opponents, the United States 17U National Team are the only ones with games under their belt heading into Blaine. Last weekend they traveled to Janesville Ice Arena in Janesville, Wisconsin to take on the NAHL's Janesville Jets of the Midwest Division for their (Janesville's) two preseason games before they (Janesville) open up their season at the showcase against the Maryland Black Bears.

Game one saw the US take home a 7-3 win over the Jets. Forward Cole Eiserman walked out of game one with two goals. While forward Christian Humphreys walked out with an impressive five goals on the night. D-man Sam Laurila also put up double digits with a two assists night.

Game two saw the same score, but flipped around, as Janesville took home the 7-3 win and split the preseason series with the US. Goals from the 17U club came from defensemen Cole Hutson, along with forwards James Hagens, and Kamil Bednarik.
