Tomahawks Season Ends Early As Black Bears Eliminate Johnstown From Robertson Cup Playoffs

Game five of this series was the scene Saturday night at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA. A do or die game with the winner advancing to the second round of the NAHL Robertson Cup Playoffs.
The Tomahawks would strike first blood in the late minutes of the first period. Forward Will Margel would reel in his second of the playoffs to make it a 1-0 Tomahawks game after one period. Brendan Clark and Ryan Poorman would get the assists off of the goal.
The second would see Maryland tying the game up 1-1 7:36 into the period. Daniel Colabufo would get the goal with the assists going to Tanner Rowe and Sean Kilcullen.
Johnstown would however take the lead back minutes later to make it a 2-1 game after 40 minutes. Reed Stark would light it up on the breakaway with Ethan Webb and Dusty Geregach tallying the assists.
Maryland would tie things back up off of Daniel Colabufo again, making it 2-2. John Gelatt would then respond for the Tomahawks on the power-play minutes later and take the lead back 3-2. However it wouldn’t last long as Maryland would respond with a power-play goal of their own to make it 3-3.
Then, minutes later, after a missed call by the referee, Maryland would get their first lead of the game. This would make it a 4-3 game, and end the Tomahawks season as the game would come to a close. The final shots on goal would be 25-22 for Maryland.
