Tomahawks, Rebels, Ready To Square Off Again in Wednesday Evening Tilt

This seasons' Johnstown vs. Jamestown rivalry sees only three games remaining between the two on the year. One of which will take place this Wednesday evening at Northwest Arena in Jamestown, New York for a 7:05 p.m. start time. Both the Tomahawks and Rebels have had nothing but back and forth competition all year round. Both teams with winning records verses each other, as well as the same 10 points gained against one another: Johnstown (4-3-1-1), Jamestown (5-4).

Last weekend Jamestown traveled to Odenton's Piney Orchard Ice Arena for a two-game stint against the Maryland Black Bears. Where standings points mean everything at this mark of the season for the Rebels, they took advantage and swept the Black Bears, gaining four points, and putting on a fight for a playoff spot.

Game one saw Jamestown taking home a 2-1 win. Followed in game two with a final second buzzer beater goal, sending the game to OT, and eventually a shootout for both sides. In the end it was Jak Vaarwerk (F) scoring the lone goal out of three rounds. Sending the Rebels home with the sweep, as well as the 3-2 win over Maryland.

GAME TWO STATS

Johnstown last weekend took off to recharge the batteries in preparation for their three game week starting Wednesday. Their last set of games were back on March 5th-6th, as they traveled to Attleboro, Massachusetts for a two-game series against the Northeast Generals. In the end, it wasn't the result the Tomahawks were looking to get out of it.

Both games were really close, start to finish. Game one saw Johnstown fall to Northeast 2-1, followed the following day in game two with a 3-2 OT loss to the Generals. Sending Johnstown home swept, with only one standings point in their pocket.
