Released: 2020-2021 Johnstown Tomahawks Schedule

Ladies and gentlemen the time is finally here! Johnstown Tomahawks hockey is back! Starting on October 9th, the Johnstown Tomahawks will begin their 2020-21 season and their quest to become Robertson Cup Champions for the first time in team history. Today we will be going over their schedule. So if you're ready, here we go.


Like every season, the Tomahawks will kick off their 2020-21 season on the road. They will begin with back to back 7:45 PM games taking on the Maryland Black Bears at Piney Orchard Ice Arena on October 9th and 10th. 


After kicking off their season on the road, the Tomahawks will host their home opener at 1st Summit Arena @ Cambria County War Memorial on Friday October 16th at 7:30 PM facing their division rival Maine Nordiques. Followed by a 7 PM game the following day on Saturday October 17th against Maine.


The Tomahawks will then follow up their home opening weekend on the road on Thursday October 22nd and Friday October 23rd at the New England Sports Village taking on the Northeast Generals. Both games will take place at 1 PM


The next set of games for the Hawks will take place at the War Memorial during Halloween weekend on Friday October 30th and Saturday October 31st. The Hawks will welcome the New Jersey Titans with puck drops beginning at 7:30 PM on the 30th and 7 PM on the 31st. Should be a spooktacular time down at the War Memorial. 


After Halloween weekend is all wrapped up, the Tomahawks will then travel to Middletown Ice World Arena to take on the New Jersey Titans for the second straight week on Friday November 6th and Saturday November 7th. Game time will start at 7:30 PM on the 6th and 7 PM on the 7th.


After their back-to-back weekend meetings with the Titans, the Tomahawks will return home and welcome the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks to the War Memorial for the first time ever. Games will take place on Friday November 13th at 7:30 PM, and Saturday November 14th at 7 PM


The Tomahawks will then travel to Danbury Ice Arena for the first time in team history to take on the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks on Thursday November 19th and Friday November 20th. Puck drop will take place at 12:30 PM on Thursday the 19th followed by a 7:05 PM puck drop on Friday the 20th.


After back-to-back weekend meetings with Danbury, the Hawks will return to the Piney Orchard Ice Arena on Friday November 27th and Saturday November 28th to take on the Maryland Black Bears. Puck drop for both games will take place at 7:45 PM.


The Hawks will then travel to Androscoggin Bank Colisee for the first time this season on Thursday December 3rd and Friday December 4th to take on the Maine Nordiques. Game times are at 7 PM on Thursday and 1 PM on Friday.


After traveling on the road for three weeks, the Hawks will begin a six game home stretch on Friday December 11th and Saturday December 12th against the Maryland Black Bears. Friday’s game will begin at 7:30 PM and Saturday’s game will start at 7 PM.


The next set of home games for the Hawks will take place on New Years Eve and New Years Day. The Northeast Generals come into town to wrap up 2020 with a 6 PM game on Thursday December 31st, followed by a 7:30 PM game on Friday January 1st.


The Tomahawks will then end off their home stretch the following weekend as they will welcome back the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks to the War Memorial on Friday January 8th and Saturday January 9th. Puck drops are at 7:30 PM on the 8th and 7 PM on the 9th.


The Hawks will then be back on the road starting on Friday January 15th and Saturday January 16th taking on the New Jersey Titans at Middletown Ice World Arena. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM on Friday and 7 PM on Saturday.


The Hawks will then travel to Danbury Ice Arena to play a set of 3:30 PM games on Friday January 22nd and Saturday January 23rd against the Dabury Jr. Hat Tricks.


Followed by a three game series against the Northeast Generals at New England Sports Village to end the road trip. Games will take place at 7 PM on Friday January 29th and Saturday January 30th. Wrapping it up with a 3 PM puck drip on Sunday January 31st.


The Tomahawks will then take a week off to recharge their batteries after a long road trip. After doing that they will return home for a weekend on Friday February 12th and Saturday February 13th. As they will welcome in the Maryland Black Bears. Puck drop for the 12th will be at 7:30 PM followed by a 7 PM puck drop for the 13th.


The Tomahawks will then go back on the road for another three weeks starting on Friday February 19th and Saturday February 20th. They will take on the Maryland Black Bears at Piney Orchard Ice Arena. Both games will begin at 7:45 PM


They will then travel to Middletown Ice World Arena to take on the New Jersey Titans on Friday February 26th at 7:30 PM and Saturday February 17th at 7 PM


Following that they will end off their long road trip on Friday March 5th and Saturday March 6th taking on the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks at Danbury Ice Arena. Puck drop for both games will be at 3:30 PM.


The Tomahawks the following week will return home to kick off a seven game home stretch. As the Tomahawks and Maryland Black Bears will scrap off once again on Friday March 12th and Saturday March 13th. The puck will drop at 7:30 PM on the 12th and 7 PM on the 13th.


Following that will be a three game weekend against the Northeast Generals on Friday March 19th, Saturday March 20th, and Sunday March 21st. Puck drops will be at 7:30 PM on the 19th, 7 PM on the 20th, and 2 PM on the 21st. 


The Hawks will then end off their home stretch the following weekend on Friday March 26th and Saturday March 27th. They will host the New Jersey Titans at 7:30 PM on the 26th and 7 PM on the 27th.


The Tomahawks will then go on the road for the final time in 2020-21 taking on the Maine Nordiques for a two game series at Androscoggin Bank Colisee on Friday April 2nd and Saturday April 3rd. Puck drop for both games will be at 7PM.


The Tomahawks will then remain at home for the rest of the season. Beginning on Friday April 9th and Saturday April 10th, the Tomahawks will host the Maryland Black Bears. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM on the 9th and 7 PM on the 10th.


Following their meeting with the Black Bears, the Hawks will follow up by hosting the New Jersey Titans on Friday April 16th and Saturday April 17th. The puck will drop on the 16th at 7:30 PM and on the 17th at 7 PM.


Finally, The Tomahawks will then close out their 2020-21 season at home for Fan Appreciation Night on Friday April 23rd and Saturday April 24th. They will close out the home schedule against the team they opened up their home schedule with, the Maine Nordiques. Puck drop is at 7:30 PM on the 23rd, ending off with a 7 PM puck drop on the 24th.

The NAHL Showcase, the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament, and the NAHL Robertson Cup Championship, will all take place this season and dates will be announced in the near future.


NAHL Commissioner and President Mark Frankenfeld stated the following about the season:


“What we are experiencing in 2020 is truly unprecedented and it has left each and every one of us with a new appreciation for the game that we love. We are thrilled to be back and now have a schedule to move forward with. Each and every one of our teams and owners are to be commended for the way they are navigating through this difficult period. The NAHL and its member clubs will continue to utilize the latest information available in order to provide the safest environment as possible for all of the players, coaches, staff, billet families and fans. We look to continue to raise the bar and provide more opportunity for the development and advancement of our players.”


Single game tickets for the Johnstown Tomahawks home games for the 2020-21 season will go on sale Monday October 5th.

There will be limited seating capacity with full information to be released in the coming days. The 1st Summit Arena at Cambria County War Memorial Box Office will also operate under limited hours this season.
