NOT DONE YET! - Tomahawks, Rebels Set To Faceoff In Afternoon Makeup Contest

This rivalry between the Johnstown Tomahawks and Jamestown Rebels ain't quite done yet, for the time being that is. After these two teams played a two-game series at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA in Johnstown, PA, where the series ended up in a split, it is now Johnstown's turn to make the road-trip. Originally scheduled for January 17th, the Tomahawks and Rebels are now set to makeup that weather postponed game Monday afternoon at Northwest Arena in Jamestown, New York, with puck drop set for 1 p.m.

This past Friday and Saturday saw these two teams scrap off in what were two physical solid games. Friday's game got to witness the Tomahawks kicking off the series with a 3-1 win over the Rebels.

With Jamestown forward John Lundy kicking things off in the first, and with former Steelers running back and US Army servant Rocky Bleier in attendance, the Tomahawks answered back in the second with two goals of the stick of their Air Force committed captain, Holt Oliphant. Forward Jake Black then sealed the deal with an empty-net goal late in the third, giving the Hawks the game one victory. Matthew O'Donnell (G) stopped a total of 20/21 in net, recording his 12th win of the season.

GAME STATS

Saturday night saw a much different result, as it was all Jamestown from start to finish.

The Rebels dominated Johnstown in the first frame by scoring four goals, forcing Coach Letizia to pull starting netminder Dominik Wasik after only 15:04 of action. Defensemen Frank Jenkins put the Hawks on the board in the second, but it wouldn't stop Jamestown from adding two more tallies in the games mid frame. The Rebels added one more in the third, which then saw Johnstown put up two more goals as the game drew to a close.
