Maryland Gets Revenge, Evens Series 1-1 With Tomahawks

Game two of the division semi-finals round between the Johnstown Tomahawks and Maryland Black Bears kicked off Saturday night at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA.
Maryland would start game two off by scoring two goals early into the contest. Grady Friedman and Conor Cole would score the goals. Assists would go to Tanner Rowe, Dylan Finlay, Josh Nixon, and Philip Törnqvist.
Johnstown would get their first goal of the game on the power-play midway through off the stick of Dusty Geregach to cut the lead in half. Ahearn and Margel would get the assists.
Maryland would then end the first period by scoring two more goals, making it a 4-1 game after a physical first 20 minutes of play. Jude Kurtas and Josh Nixon would score, assists would go to Bryan Huggins, Brendan Piku, and Cam Guadette.
Johnstown would then start their comeback attempt, as they would score two power-play goals to cut the Black Bears lead 4-3. Reed Stark and Jay Ahearn would light the lamp. Will Margel (2), and Dusty Geregach would tally assists.
Maryland would end the period once again by scoring. This would make it a 5-3 Maryland game after two. Kevin Scott would get the goal with the assists going to Conor Cole snd Luke Mountain.
Stark would score a power-play goal once again midway through the third, cutting the lead 5-4. Tkac would get the lone assist. But that would be all she wrote, as captain Luke Mountain would score the empty netter for the Black Bears. Taking game two over Johnstown at a final score of 6-4. Final shots on goal would be 35-21 for Johnstown.
