Johnstown Tomahawks vs New Jersey Titans - Weekend Preview

Written By: David Nicoletti

After a tough two-game series last weekend against the Maryland Black Bears, the Tomahawks are looking to move on and respond. This weekend the Hawks will be back at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA to take part in a two-game series against the New Jersey Titans. Puck drops are for Friday at 7:30 p.m., and Saturday at 7 p.m.

This weekend at the War Memorial will host the 11th and 12th meeting between the Tomahawks and Titans. The last time these two teams played was back on March 26th-27th. The Tomahawks would sweep the Titans in that two-game series, out-scoring New Jersey 11-1. A Reed Stark and Will Margel two-goal night would help Johnstown in game one 8-1, following that up with a Josh Graziano shutout the following night, defeating New Jersey in game two 3-0.

The New Jersey Titans come into this series after sweeping the Maine Nordiques last weekend on April 9th-10th. A Matthew Doyle and Jake LaRusso two-goal night would help New Jersey defeat the Nordiques 7-3 in game one. LaRusso would have yet another two-goal game the following night in game two, leading New Jersey to sweep Maine at a final score of 5-1.

Johnstown comes into this series after a tough two games against the Maryland Black Bears last weekend at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA. A hard-fought back-and-forth game would be heading to a shootout in game one. However, it would be Conor Cole from Maryland who would score the game-winning goal to defeat the Tomahawks 3-2. Maryland would start game two the following night by scoring three unanswered goals. Johnstown would respond to those by adding two to the scoreboard, but it wouldn’t be enough as they would fall to the Black Bears 3-2 once again.
