Johnstown Tomahawks vs. New Jersey Titans - Series Preview (4/1-4/2)



The time to step up big is now! After taking a two-game series sweep on the road last weekend, the Tomahawks are looking to bounce back for yet another two-game road series. This time against the East Division clinching New Jersey Titans.


Game One Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m. | Game Two Puck Drop: 7 p.m.


New Jersey comes into this series riding an eight-game winning streak, and are 9-1-0-0 in their last 10 games. The top team in the league only took part in one game last week, a Wednesday night tilt against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks at home.


Forwards Michael Young, and Brendan Dumas got the scoring started for the Titans in the game's first frame. Then, after a scoreless second period, New Jersey's Ryan Coughlin (F) picked it back up in the third with a short-handed goal, putting the Titans up 3-0. Danbury battled back with a goal from Matthew Danziger (D) midway through the period. However a David Posma (D) empty-net goal put the cherry on top for New Jersey, claiming the 4-1 win over the Jr. Hat Tricks. Andrew Takacs (G) stopped 24/25 in his winning performance in net.

Johnstown comes into Middletown Township after a tough two-game series sweep against the Jamestown Rebels last weekend. Game one saw a close back-and-forth battle, but it was the Rebels getting the upper hand on the Tomahawks with the 4-3 victory.


JHT vs. JMT (3/25) BOX SCORE


Game two saw the Tomahawks claiming the game's first two goals, off the sticks of forwards Cole Bianchin, and Stephen Kyrkostas. However, four straight goals from the Rebels clinched them the come from behind 4-2 victory over Johnstown. Sweeping the series and increasing the heat in the division's playoff race.
