Johnstown Tomahawks vs. Jamestown Rebels - Series Preview (3/25-3/26)

After a series sweep at home against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks last weekend. The Johnstown Tomahawks will now hit the road for their next six games, looking to claim more points as the regular season draws near a close. The first set of games will be tonight and tomorrow night at Northwest Arena in Jamestown, New York. Where the Tomahawks will faceoff against the Jamestown Rebels in a two-game series.

Jamestown took last week off to recharge the batteries, preparing them for what they have in store the rest of the way. Their last game was back on Wednesday, March 16, 2022, where the Rebels defeated the Tomahawks 4-1. In what was a scoreless first period, Johnstown capitalized first by scoring midway in the second from Jake Black (F). Jamestown then went on to score four unanswered on the Tomahawks, claiming the win, and the two-points.

Johnstown comes into this series as mentioned after sweeping the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks at home in a two-game series. A Zachary Murray (F) hat-trick in a game full of power-play goals and toughness all around helped Johnstown claim a 5-2 victory in game one.

Game two saw a very interesting contest from start to finish. Going into the second period with both teams tied up at 6-6, Johnstown was looking to find their way in order to clinch the series sweep. The did just that with Cole Bianchin (F) scoring near the midway mark of the period, and then Jake Black (F) adding to his previous two-goals from earlier by scoring his hat-trick to put the cherry on top for the Tomahawks. They would go on to claim the 8-6 win over Danbury, in what was yet another mental tough game all around.

Congratulations to Tomahawks forward, Jacob Badal, for being named East Division 2nd Star of the Week for this week's BAUER Stars of the Week. The native of Flushing, Michigan extended his points streak last weekend by putting up five points. The lefty shot went on to tally three assist in game one, then going on to light the lamp twice in game two.

Zachary Murray was also honored this week as well as an Honorable Mention. Last weekend the 6'3" forward from Arlington, Virginia scored a hat-trick in game one, then went on to score one more, and tally two assists in game two.

After a 4-1 win this past Wednesday against the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks, the New Jersey Titans have officially clinched the East Division for 2021-22.
