Johnstown Generals Steal Road Win

Written by: David Nicoletti

The Johnstown Generals this past Saturday were on the road to Leesburg, Virginia. A 9 PM contest against the DC Warriors at the Ion International Training Center was upon us.

Generals captain Ben Urban would get the game started with two unanswered goal, putting the Generals up 2-0 halfway through the first period.

DC would score a goal of their own to make it 2-1. But it wouldn’t take long for Ben Urban to complete his hat-trick nearing the end of the first.

DC would score one more as we would have a 3-2 Generals game after 20 minutes of play.

Urban would kick off the second period scoring yet another goal early in to make it a 4-2 Generals game. DC would later switch goaltenders following the goal.

The Generals would then find themselves in some penalty trouble later in the period. It would sadly cost them as DC would score a power-play goal to make it a one goal game.

Johnstown would add one more tally as it would hold a 5-3 lead after two periods of play.

DC would put up a fight for most of the third period. They would go on and tie the game up midway through the period, making it a 5-5 game.

But it wouldn’t take long minutes later for Ben Urban to break the tie and give the Generals the victory over the DC Warriors 6-5. Chad Burnosky would stay strong in net and get the win for your Generals.

Congratulations to the Generals on picking up the win, and good game to both you and the DC Warriors. Heck of a game for both teams.

Let’s Go Gens!!
