Johnstown Battles Against Maine For Last Time This Regular Season - Weekend Preview

The Tomahawks schedule of games remaining has now reached single digits with nine games remaining in 2020-21. This Friday and Saturday they will play two of those games at home at 1ST SUMMIT ARENA. Welcoming in the second place and playoff clinching Maine Nordiques for a two-game series at the barn.

Game One Puck Drop: 7:30 p.m. | Game Two Puck Drop 7 p.m.

This weekend will host the seventh and eighth meeting between the two teams, as well as the final season meeting against each other. The last time these two teams scrapped off were back on April 2nd-3rd, where Johnstown out-scored Maine on the road 15-1. Taking home a 8-1 win in game one, and a 7-1 win in game two. Daniel Tkac (game one), and Andrew Murphy (game two) would have two goal nights, Murphy would also end the weekend with three goals. and Josh Graziano would have a big weekend in goal, stopping a total of 62 shots out of 64.

Maine comes into this weekend after sweeping the Danbury Jr. Hat Tricks in a three-game series last weekend on April 16th-18th. Forward Patrick Schmiedlin would have a two-goal night in game one, helping Maine take a 6-5 win in OT. In game two, both forwards Aidan Connolly and Stefan Owens would put up two goals each in Maine’s 5-2 win over Danbury. Finally in game three, Maine would end the series by sweeping Danbury and winning at a final score of 4-1.

Johnstown comes into this weekend after sweeping the New Jersey Titans in a hard fought series last weekend on April 16th-17th. Fifteen total goals would be scored in game one, as Johnstown would be on top in the end, winning in 9-6 after a back-and-forth contest all night. Game two would be a close one going into it, but Johnstown would keep the flames burning, as they would sweep the Titans at a 4-3 final score.
