Generals Split Pair of Games in Ebensburg

Written by: David Nicoletti

The Johnstown Generals where back in action last night for some Adult League action at North Central Recreation Center. Two games were on the schedule for the Generals heading into the night.

Their first meeting at 6:10 p.m. would be against Berkebile Chiropractic, who won their league championship just months ago.

The defending champs would get the first period started by scoring four goals on the Gens. Forward Ben Urban would respond with one for Johnstown to make it 4-1 after the first set of 17. Urban would score again in the second as it was 4-2 heading into the third.

From there, Berkebile would score two more goals on the Gens in the games final frame. Johnstown would fall in game one at a final score of 6-2.

The second and final meeting on the night would take place at 7:20 p.m. against the Highlanders.

The first period would see both teams score one goal a piece after one period. The Highlanders would then score an early second period goal, as we would go into the third period with the Gens down 2-1.

The comeback was on, as late in the period, the Generals would get the game tying goal off of the stick of Sean Mullen to tie the game at two. Looking like we would need more time, Ben Urban would quickly silence the Highlanders and put an exclamation point on the game with five seconds left in regulation. Johnstown would take home game two at a final score of 3-2.
